Hello! I am looking at your extension and I see questions below about adding products only one by one.. is the new version capable of bulk adding? Same as others below, we have too many products to do this manually

jayesh,

Look at your menu under Catalog. Here you will find a link to Google market. On this page you will find the plus sign to add a feed.

I can add products to the feed - one at a time. We are going to have 75,000 products.

Is there any way to add multiple products to the feed?

To be honest, I did not consider the possibility of adding large amounts of products. The requirements Google has for products has to be added for each product. You could potentially download your products into a spreadsheet as a starting point then edit the spreadsheets to match the google_market tables, add the remaining data then upload your spreadsheets directly to your database using MySqlAdmin.

I am planning to do some upgrades to the extension soon. I will look at integrating it with the Data Import & Export tool.

The Google Category is created by a series of select boxes to drill down to the correct category for your item. What you see on the form is a greyed out input box after Google Category. Below is the first select box. Choose a the first high level category and another select box will appear. Continue the process until you have the correct category. If you have reached the end of the category options, "Last Category" will appear below the select box.

Notice how the selected category hierarchy is now shown in the Google Category field. Once you reach the desired category, save your product (after entering all the other required information).

To help you find the right category, there is a link on the help page to the Google Taxonomy spreadsheet.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

The problem stems from the change in AbanteCart version number standard going from 1.2.9 to 1.2.10. I built this extension to be compatible with older versions. Because .10 is less than .9, it caused errors in the jquery code and some functions did not work. I uploaded Google market v1.0.3 for users with AbanteCart 1.2.10 and higher. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Shawn,

The Product Category is used to tell Google which category in your store your product can be found. Be default, the only categories shown are those where your product is listed. The Google Category selection starts with the drop down below the greyed out box. As you select the category it will appear in the greyed out bow. If you are not seeing this drop down then we need to figure out why. Email me and I will get back to you quicker.

Matt, Shawn,

What version are you running? The latest is 1.04 but for some reason it shows 1.01 on the details. If you can't get 1.04, let me know.

I need to know what you guys see. I am assuming you see the Google Category field (greyed out). Do you see a drop down below field below the Google Category field? If so, when you select a category from the drop down, does the value show in the Google Category field? Does another drop down appear below the first? If so, when you select a subcategory, does it show in the Google Category field after the first category your choose?

If nothing above is working, please tell me where it first fails.

I have tried all sorts of things to get this to fail they way you describe. I can't seem to replicate the problem. The only thing I can figure is that the google category table was somehow corrupted or duplicate values were possibly created in the table. What I suggest is completely deleting the extension and reinstalling it. To protect the feed you already have, you will need to edit the uninstall.sql file and comment out the first three lines. Then edit the install.sql file and comment out (or remove) everything before the line: DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `ac_google_category`;

Let me know if you try this and if this solves the problem.
