OK, I found the page to obtain the activation key. The page provided an activation key but when that is entered AbanteCart reports " Marketplace error: Unknown error happened.
Stuck? Not a problem. You can install extensions another way. Check this help link "
when I attempt a network install. Please resolve this issue.

Hello,
I am considering purchasing the USPS Integration. I do have a question before doing so. I offer USPS Priority small flat rate box and medium flat rate box. My site sells a a very limited range of products and will fit in one or the other of these. The problem I have with the default AbanteCart USPS extension is that it does not take into account the size of the product. While all of my products are under the 70 lbs limit, one of them will not fit in the small flat rate box. It must be shipped in the medium box. The default AbanteCart USPS extension offers both the small and medium box rates. I need something will only offer the medium flat rate box based on the size of the product. Will your extension handle this?

The current handling of products is based on wt and dimensions- and applied to the Rate look up from USPS.
In plain speak - the way Admins handle this now is to use priority mail for shipping fees and then box as necessary. So we do not have a satisfactory solution for you currently. Have you thought about just using the Fixes Shipping Price for that one item? You would use the flat rate for the medium box. That would work as long as order is only for that one item .

However, with the new feature in 1.2.14 of locations we will be introducing new versions of shippers that will take advantage of different locations for shipments. We will look at some type of modification that would allow you to flag a product to only use a specific box, ie medium flat rate box. I believe we could add a field in the product that would allow you to set a specific shipping choice to that product. The consideration here is how to do that - if you flag the product for one specific rate - then what happens when a customer orders another small item that can go in the same box? Would you want it to be added into the box , will it fit? There is no dimensions calculation that aggregates all the products in one order and sees if it will fit in one box or not.

Let us know more about how your customers order - usually only one item, or more than one in an order.

I am looking at USPS integration to solve a problem I have with shipping. The USPS extension provided with abanteacart does not offer and option for "First Class Package". The overview for USPS Integration says it supports all rates but when I look at the setup screen shot "First Class Package" is not an option. Does USPS support the "First Class Package" rate and, if it does, how can you select that rate?

There is no separate First Class Package selection in the rate API from USPS. The first domestic service is simply First Class and the the weight of your order determines rather it is a letter or a package.

I just purchased the new version of the USPS extension today. I installed it by copying the key and entering it. I made my settings, entered my id and password, pushed the test button and everything said ok. However, when I go to the checkout page, enter a zip code and estimate, no options for USPS shipping comes up. Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

Also, I used the same id and password that I used for version 1.0.2. Does this matter or do I have to get a new id and password because I'm using a new extension?

Ok, USPS Priority and USPS Ground shows now. Now I just need to see why First Class isn't showing. If I can't figure it out I'll repost later.

Well, I tried to open a ticket but I get getting 500 Internel Server Error messages with different browers ie Chrome, Firefox etc. I'm bought USPS 1.2.1.3 today. I'm running abantecart version 1.2.10. My question is why is ground shipping showing up cheaper than 2 day priority mail when shipping from Illinois to California? Also, it doesn't give the user the option to select 1 2 or 3 day priority mail. The drop down shows 2 day priority or 1 day priority depending on the zip code.

Also, depending on the zip code I enter, I might have only one selection in the drop down - priority mail 1 day for example is the only thing that shows - then if I enter a different zip code only a select few (1 to 3 options) show for me to choose from. It doesn't make any sense. All of the options I turn on should show. The user should be able to pick 1 - 3 day priority mail. Especially ground shipping. It should show for every purchase, but ground shipping shows up sometime depending on the zip code. It's all over the place. I don't know what's going to show based of the zip code. Also, ground shipping should be consistent and ground shipping should not be higher that 1 day priority mail. Please help.

To let others know - this issue was resolved - the Admin had the setting for the max box weight field enabled at a very low wt - that caused the multiple box rule to be used. Once he corrected his settings all worked as he expected.

I've got the size and weight set on all of my products and I'd like to offer my customers all of the domestic options possible, but if I have small flat rate box or flat rate envelope or anything except priority mail, it allows these options to be selected for items that will not fit in these containers. Please advise.

You are correct, in that all shipping options selected within the settings side are shown to the customers. And customers tend to select the lowest cost and have no way of knowing what size box their order is requiring.

What our clients do is offer only the Priority Mail and not any of the flat rate boxes for the customer selection. The API has no ability to calculate the box size required for item(s) in the order, it uses only wt and zone to obtain the rates. The Flat Rate settings are in there as we do have some clients that all of their products will fit into one certain size box and they offer that rate, rather than the Priority Rate.

We will keep your comments in mind and look at perhaps adding a field on the product page for those rates when no other items are ordered. Perhaps in the next version.

USPS shippingassistance is discontinued and this extension will not work anymore even though I paid $30.00 for it, can I get a refund and please let me know if there's some other thing I can use for USPS extension.
I get the message
" usps Error: This Software version is no longer supported. You must go to the SA web site (www.uspswebtools.com/Shippingassistant) and download the latest version of the Shipping Assistant. Please check your API Credentials and try again."

It looks like you only purchased this extension a few moments ago - a bit unusual to ask for a refund rather than help within 10 minutes.

This is the developer of this extension and as you can see by the posted error you have - you need to update your shipping Credentials. This is extension is fully operational and fully supported via our support ticket system. The link is here on the Support tab, found on the first page of your extension site, at the bottom of the manuals. Please open a support ticket, tell us what your Abantecart Version is and we will get you pointed in the correct process to get your USPS to work.

This is NOT your USPS shipping account information. Get the Web Tools User ID here: register.

We have included the link to the correct web tools api and complete directions in what you need to do.
